The Osan Air Base United Service Organization recently held its bi-weekly Dine for a Dime program March 14, which offers a full meal for only 10 cents.

The Dine for a Dime program offers service members and their families a home cooked meal every second and fourth Wednesday of each month.

"These meals are made from recipes and not catered in, so it is a touch of home for those 7,000 miles away from family and friends," said Angela McLaughlin, USO program coordinator.

Made up of volunteers around base, the USO program serves an average of 80 service members during each meal.

"I really like helping out with Dine for a Dime," said Capt. Nicole Kump, 5th Reconnaissance Squadron. "I like to help people connect with friends and family in a fun environment with food and good conversation. Plus the desserts are always amazing, and who doesn't love a good home-cooked meal for only a dime?"

Service members are offered several ways of getting involved with the Dine for a Dime program by cooking and serving meals, or by volunteering to be a photographer, greeter or desk clerk.

Organizations have also contributed financially by sponsoring events and covering the cost of the meal, McLaughlin said.

The next Dine for a Dime is scheduled for March 28 at the Osan USO.
