The Songtan Chamber of Commerce hosts the 5th Annual Korean/American Friendship Festival from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 13 and 14 in the Shinjang Shopping Mall, just outside the main gate here.

This is the third year that Osan has participated in the festival, having people and vehicles in the parade and booths in the mall area. Local talent from Osan will perform on stage, including Tech. Sgt. Clayton Smith, Fishbowl 5 and Tech. Sgt. Brian Weed. Entertainment from Korea includes the Nan-Ta drummers and pop star Hyon-Suk.

The parade begins at 2 p.m. on Oct. 13, followed by the opening ceremony at 5 p.m. The parade will feature civic groups from Songtan and Pyeongtaek City, as well representatives from the 51st Fighter Wing and 7th Air Force.

"The motto of this year's festival is 'We Go Together,' and 'Be a Good Neighbor,'" said Mr. Kasey Lee, head of the Songtan Chamber of Commerce. "This is a great opportunity for Koreans and Americans to share our cultures through food and music."

The festival had more than 40,000 attendees last year and organizers are expecting just as many this year.
